The current version as of this review is 6.0.13.614. It is not compatible with IDEA 2019.1.4 (meaning you probably need 2019.2), but also not compatible with anything newer than 2020.1.4 (meaning it's broken in 2020.2+). WebStorm 2017.1.2 is now available and brings over 40 fixes and improvement. A patch update should be available soon for the users of WebStorm 2017.1.1 and 2017.1.2 RC. If you're using an earlier version, give WebStorm 2017.1 and its new features a try and download it from our website for a free 30-day evaluation.
The software is free to try, without any significant restrictions. It takes only a few minutes to download its setup package and to install its components. Apart from associating the application with certain file types, the setup wizard won't ask for anything you haven't seen before.
The user interface has been designed specifically for comfortable use. You can work on multiple files on separate tabs, on the same window. Furthermore, the project files can be sorted in folders and sub-folders, on the left side of the window. They can be moved from one folder to another by simply dragging and dropping them and if you right click a file, you will find a wide range of useful options, for inspecting their code, synchronizing and much more.
As previously mentioned, the software provides support for various programming languages. What's more, WebStorm's syntax highlighting and code auto-completion capabilities will work for each of these languages separately. You can choose to create a new project file in a specific language and you will benefit from the aforementioned features accordingly.
Writing code, for any project, can be a straightforward and comfortable operation with WebStorm.
Pros:
WebStorm supports various programming language. Its code auto-completion feature works quite well. The software provides such features for each language.
Cons:
There are no serious issues to mention.

Create Command-line Launcher
A command-line launcher is a handle tool which allows one to open WebStorm using the command-line. It can easily be created by using the menus
After selecting the option, you will be presented with the 'Create Launcher Script' prompt for a location and name of the command-line launcher. This location should be within $PATH
Sip 1 1 1. so that it can be invoked in the command prompt / terminal.
The default value is /usr/local/bin/webstorm
where /usr/local/bin
is the path the launcher will be added and webstorm
is the name of the file. The name of the file will also be used as the command to invoke and launch WebStorm, it can change it, but for this example we will assume it is the default value of 'webstorm'
After this is done, you can open a terminal or command prompt and user the 'webstorm' command to launch WebStorm with a specific directory. In the example below, WebStorm will be opened with the directory ~/Workspace/my-project
at the root of the Project.
Tip: Use webstorm .
to open the current directory.
